For the Fall Tour we will be playing lots from the new album, but what else would you really like to hear?

Comment with your thoughts here (at davidusher.com rather than facebook or myspace) so i can see all your ideas and we can all follow the thread!

Matt G • August 6th, 2008 at 7:26 pm

Hey David,

I’ve seen a few of your shows and I can’t get the opening of “Unholy, Dirty & Beautiful” out of my memory (I think it 2 years ago that you performed that song as the opening). I even brought a few friends to see you for the first time, and they were immediately hooked by the dark and mysterious tone that the song sets. “Life of Bees” or “Everything is all right by me now” may be a good one for this year?
From what I’ve seen, you seem more comfortable performing songs with a slight edge and more of a rock sound in front of a live audience- keeping the energy on stage alive. Bring back the flashing lights, the mist, the David Usher emerging from the shadows, behind the stage! You Rock! – M

yvette kirchgesner • August 7th, 2008 at 4:40 pm

Just listened to “This Shrieking Love” again in the car and just wanted to reiterate that this would be the most awesome one for you to do at your live shows:-) Kevin could pound on the keys like there’s no tomorrow and the bass and guitar makes one want to jump around and go crazy! There are so many tempo changes…which you can use to do that unique dancing and to jump into the crowd and seduce us…Haha! So much fun! It might be a challenge, but you guys can do it…you’re not that old! Okay, now I’m goading you…not fair, right. Anyway, think about it for me in Saskatoon! Time to get started. XO

Kristin • August 7th, 2008 at 5:03 pm

ElizabethLouise • August 7th, 2008 at 7:57 pm

Good call Stuart, I could go for a live DVD even though I’m not too far from shows. I love the UTube videos everyone is posting (please don’t stop guys), but the quality isn’t so grand. Plus I wouldn’t mind seeing some vids that show the entire band. Not that I mind looking at David, but I never feel like I can hear music properly until I can identify all the seperate parts. And since I don’t see them releasing the unmixed recordings, live vid showing the whole band is the easiest way. Maybe a vid compiled of parts of shows from the upcoming tour? Ooohhh maybe with extras like onstage bloopers, banter or toying with band members for giggles and good times. LOL

Karsten • August 7th, 2008 at 8:56 pm

First off, please come to the Okanagan; specifically Penticton. Secondly, song choices:

Hi David….I love your energy..and the emotion that pours out with it….I could listen to your music and hear your voice echo to no end…ah, but all good things must come to an end…and then I hit the play button again and let it start all over again….I don’t know how you do it…nor do I want to know your secret.
On to other things….I’d love to hear you in some smaller venues, and play acoustic sets.

Keep Well,

Todd

Bryan • August 10th, 2008 at 9:13 pm

just a side note!

I think sparse recorded songs sound the best live!!
maybe it’s because you have more to work with?

but yea, just about everything from “Little Songs” and “If God Had Curves” would sound amazing live!

Laura C. • August 10th, 2008 at 10:33 pm

i put my choices up a few days ago, but somehow forgot one of my favorite songs:

Eric • August 13th, 2008 at 11:03 am

Well, I live in Northern California and I know chances are very slim that you & your band will stop here for a gig… But in a perfect world, you would make a stop to San Francisco and play:

How are you (personal favorite)
Black Black Heart (Never seen it live)
Hallucinations

Last time I saw you live was in 1999 for the M5&D tour in Montreal, and it was electrifying. Maybe I’ll try to fly to Vancouver, but it’s hard with the newborn baby girl…

Have a great tour David & Co.
