I think I will refrain from pre-ordering Wake Up and Say Goodbye. But I will see you at a show and get an autograph on my copy of your new record in person!!
Plus, that will give somebody a chance to get your autograph who would not be able to get out to a show! see I’m a nice guy!! :P

i’m buying that baby straight from the store the day it comes out and probably won’t listen to anything else for a good month

Autographed CD, you are mine! Thank you David and take care of that hand :P I am a little confused though. On the Disco/Lryics Page it says Wake Up and Say Goodbye is coming out on Sept 9, but beside the cover art below it says Sept 23. What is this Sept 9 date I keep seeing???

@ Kirsten – If I recall correctly the 9th was the original release date for the album, but it got backed up to the 23rd. Must be David needed time to sign all those CD’s ;)

I was all set to buy one of these until I seen the smoke job maple music puts on you to buy one of these if it is shipped to the US. $8 was the cheapest and that was for like 12 day shipping. What a joke. I have mailed stuff to Canada from the US before and that is just ripping people off.

Just pre-ordered :-) Thanks for the heads up…I’m sure I will also be buying one from the store as soon as it comes out…I always like to have a second one on hand and I probably will be too impatient to wait. Maybe I’ll try to get that one autographed in person! When will “Carry On” be available on itunes?

So exciting! Seeing these things makes it all seem real! Will definately be ordering a few autographed copies for friends! But 300 copies!? O_O!! Take care of that wrist… you’ll need it for your guitar parts on all those many tour dates!!!
Bryan – I believe Carry On is only on the itunes preorder as a bonus track. And Forgive Everything isn’t on the new cd but “Wake Up and Say Goodbye” is a revamped version of it!

I knew I recognised “Forgive Everything” in the “late night and morning music” video, and I knew it was revamped but not retitled!
I am guessing there will be a free mp3 of “Carry On” for the people who don’t have ITunes? I feel I’m stuck in the dark ages because I still buy actual albums from record stores.

I directly pre-ordered the album. I live all the way in the Netherlands so I problaby wouldn’t be able to ever see a live show. Worst yet, it seems that I’m the only one here to know the fantastic music you make. So I have to keep myself satisfied with ‘you-tube’-videos ;o)

did you really sign every single copy? I remember pre-ordering if God Had Curves and it was signed, but it didn’t look like you signed it yourself, it looked like you signed one and they used that to print the rest :)

i think it’s an incredibly generous gesture for david to have signed 300 copies! i’m ordering one for my mom and then getting my own copy signed in person :) yes, my mother is a huge david usher fan! LOL
being exposed to the full tracklisting is so exciting!
now all we need is the full tour dates list…LOL

Bryan M: I also buy my music from the store rather than buy from iTunes. I don’t like Apple (sorry guys, i just don’t). In this case though, i see the signed CD a collectible so that’s why i ordered it. if it was unautographed, i would have just got it from hmv.

Here’s a curious question for anyone who knows? Do artists make any more or less money from music sales based on how/where we buy them (eg: MapleMusic, HMV vs. I-tunes)?

me, being an aspiring artist, plan on doing everything myself. recording, art work, burning the disks, sending them out!
so I havent really looked into it.
maybe it depends where it is? example: if there is a store in Vancouver and a store in Kingston and the records are made in Toronto then it would be cheaper to send them to Kingston, hence the artist would make more money from the ones sold in Kingston??
I really have no idea what I’m talking about!! lol

tried to pre-order too and got same problem. wtf? shouldn’t limit pre-order … ok even if not signed.

and for those asking if an artist/songwriter makes more money based on where a product is sold – quick answer is that within canada, it doesn’t matter where a product is sold (shipping cost is not a direct factor). however, the type of product does matter. that is – physical products have a different royalty rate than a product delivered via an online store, etc.
the main thing is that it’s important to buy music rather than download from an illegal site! :)

there’s nothing wrong about buying records in stores….specially vinyls…main thing is to support the artist by buying the legal copies, whether digital or cds…:) david, should sign more cds…

I’ll end up having two copies as well, but I’ll just pass one on to mommy when I get the signed one. She’s almost as enthralled with David’s music as I am! Must get the signed one though, since it seems that David is NOT coming to Sudbury this time around even though we love him so much here!! Oh, try to make time for us!

Hmm, I just ordered mine today and my order went through. I also got another shirt too.
Thats ok if i dont get a signed copy, because I hope I can get you guys to sign it in person! nudge nudge wink wink cough. cough…winnipeg.
I hope there are also some new tshirts for wake up and say goodbye, the album cover design looks pretty cool, a tshirt to match my new album would rock.
I love my David usher tshirts! Especially the purple ringer Strange bird shirt with the detail on the sleeve…tres cool! and my most favorite shirt is my black shirt that has head phones with streams of clip arts flowing out of it with green and white colors, I really wanted another shirt like that one but its not posted at the Maple music store.
