Re-recording Wake Up and Say Goodbye (the song)

at soundcheck last week we played Wake Up and Say Goodbye for the first time in awhile. ive been playing it at home on acoustic and had changed the key, moving it up 2 steps and so we tried it 2 steps up. that simple change and the fact that we were playing it faster was enough to make me want to record it again. so this morning im going in with fred to finish it off and do the vocal again. we’ll see how it sounds. when all is said and done (that has to be soon, the album is still coming out on sept. 23rd) you can tell me which version you like better!

wow! That is taking it down to the line! the joys of perfectionism :)

If the new version you are talking about is the one you played in the show, I think the tempo was perfect! Fit it really well with the other (fantastic) new songs!!!

Will both versions be on the CD?

Can’t wait to hear both versions! Your creativity is always evolving…wow! Let me guess…the second version will be available on Itunes :-) Brilliant x

i think it is incredible that you are continually striving for the most perfect version of every song – your perfectionism never fails! i love that. wake up and say goodbye sounded absolutely amazing at rouyn-noranda :)

looking forward to get the chance to provide some feedback on the different versions of this song :) can’t wait to hear them!

Post the recording on YouTube or Facebook after the release of the new record so we can get a chance to hear the difference, PLEASE!!!

this is going to be the longest 38 days of my life.

I hope we can get both versions on iTunes.
Can’t wait for the Junction Arts Festival. Are you on at 8? or 10?

Hope in the future you can release an album that contains different versions of our favourites.

Hi Dave, Read today you are coming to town in October and was able to get tickets for your show. Maybe I’ll ask Kelly to come up for it!
Looking forward to seeing you.

I’m getting quite anxious…I check the tour dates daily, but there is still no Calgary date :(

I am planning a trip to Disneyland in the fall and I’m worried I will miss the David Usher concert. I haven’t missed a Moist/David Usher concert here in Calgary since 1995

David, Wondering what time you guys are on at the Junction Arts Festival? Here it says 8:00 pm but the JAF site has you listed for 9:30 I think it is.

Ok just found out your playing in Vancouver again, fab! However, wondering why you always play at over 19 venues? My 16 year old son is waiting unpatiently for you to play at a venue where he will be allowed in!!! Any chance of that happening in the future?
