making music…the beauty of less

its a strange thing, flows and then comes in broken fragments. i talked to julie today about coming in to sing on a few songs. shes a beautiful singer.
the trick with this album is going to be not to do to much, keep it simple and believe and remember there is something special about…less

Absolutely! No need for lots of frills when the basic elements are of such fine quality… best to just let those be the focus!

Yes, simple or stripped down is usually what I think of when I think “acoustic”.

Loved how simple, but rather haunting, Hope and Blue were. Dying to hear what you’ve been working on! When is this album coming out again…the fall? Is it fall yet??? ;)

Anything that you guys do, David, is amazing!! Can’t wait til September, for several reasons.. this summer is going to be very rough for me. So I’m just hoping that you are going to have a tour date that is close enough that I can make it to!! So that I will have something to look forward to so I can get through the summer! Take care, Andrea

Sometimes less really is more. I’m so excited!

When your ears vibrate to the softest voice, and the lyrics seems to enter your soul, you slowly activate the rythm and you breath your heartbeat, while the harmonies come out so naturally, your special song found itself, reuniting. And the question remains, wondering the true meaning of it all.

Best Wishes for your next album

Less can be more…fragments to linear is essential…..I agree with Katia, well said!

You spend half your life learning how to play a lot of notes on the guitar and the second half trying to figure out how to get rid of them! Agreed David!

David, did she also play guitar for you for the Morning Orbit tour? She also has/had a band of her own -was it called Atomic Kitten? I’m reaching way back here… or am I getting her confused with someone else? She was also in the My Way Out video if it’s the same person.

David,
There is something so ethereal in your voice, I find at times it is more the tonality of the way you sing a word that makes me register with it on a deeper level. Does that make any sense to you? I have often not been able to watch you when you are singing your physical beauty no withstanding the sheer power of the energy you display when you are in the moment is breathtaking.
This would mean more to you if you knew me I am not into auras or well anything metaphysical. But I guess I know it when I see it and you have it.
SO for me simple is best because you bring the rest with just your being.

@Andrea – you are thinking of Kim Bingham I think. Julie is in the back in this picture:

David, simple is pure and less is often more than we think. You have a gift, just listen to what you feel and it will be enough.

Can’t wait to hear it.

Andrea • May 19th, 2009 at 6:14 pm

@ Shannon. Thank-you- I thought I had the wrong person, but I wasn’t sure- I couldn’t remember the other ones name, but that rings a bell now. Yes Kim it is. Julie is also in the Love Will Save The Day video as well, right? How come I can’t get deqq to download on my computer- I want to be able to chit chat with you all. My husband isn’t sure why not either- any suggestions?
Take care, Andrea
