first acoustic tour is done…

kevin, jon and i spent a lot of time thinking, planning, rehearsing and questioning the idea and reality of an acoustic tour.

now that its done there is a great feeling of relief, but also that “man i want to play more shows right now!” feeling.

we are going to take a few days off and then finish the acoustic album, record the 2 new songs we wrote on the road.

thank you for making it a really amazing experience for us…

And thanks you for that amazing experience.
you are so generous of yourself, there is not a lot of artist who gives us the feeling that fans are so important to them.
Thank you for been who you are.
Now take time to rest and then create wonders like you always do.

Thank you guys! I will always remember DU at the Opéra…
Merci pour votre générosité.
Can’t wait for the acoustic album…’cause I got that “want to hear more David Usher’s acoustic music” feeling.;)

David, to be honest, in the beginning I questioned the idea of an acoustic tour too. I LOVE the regular shows so much, that I wasn’t sure that an all-acoustic show would be as good. Well, yes, it was different but you know what? It was still amazing!!! :)

The arrangements of the songs (a few in particular, to me) were awesome – - can’t tell you how much I liked some of them. I was lucky enough to attend two shows and, as usual, I still wanted more! Can’t wait for the album and the full tour. Have a good rest and…thank you.

Last night show was amazing…..and the sound in the church was great also.
You really are a great trio band. The new song was beautiful.
Thanks for everything. If you still want to do acoustic tour, please come back at Ste-Thérèse anytime.

The organiser, Anne ;o)

The acoustic shows were incredible! The stripped down instrumentation really brought the focus to the voices, the lyrics and the melodies! I fell in love with so many songs all over again! Thank you so much for such a special, intense, intimate tour!

Bonjour David, I have some lyrics I would like to send you. I wrote on a few French albums in the past. Last week, I ran into my cousin, a professional drummer from Montreal, and he suggested that I contact you. So I am sending a bottle in the sea, hoping you will get this message.
Anyway, do you have a contact person or email I can send them to? I will post 2 on your site and feel free to contact me if you want to read some more.
Thanks
MGM

REFLECTION

My breakfast’s cold
The tap is running
My blood is warm
And my head is spinning
My heart is little
My love is stalled
My body trembles
From wakening

Face to face, eye to eye
With my shadow standing by
Where am I?

The phone is silent
The table’s cracking
My thoughts are absent
And my tears are fading
My hands are tied
My feelings are numbed
My words are sketching
My reflection

Soul to soul, eye to eye
With my shadow standing by
Where am I?

I pressed pause
Then rewind
I made a u-turn
Back in time
On a highway
Speeding lights
I hit and run
Through out my life

My heart is beating
My love has grown
My body trembles
From awakening
I survived
My fear has gone
I can now face
My own reflection

Face to face, eye to eye
Between me myself and I
I am alive

DOWNTOWN

Alone on a bench
Reading a newspaper
Feeling to old for romance
Taking time to get older
He’s dressed at his best
Wearing a scarf on his shoulders
Looking towards loneliness
So little he remembers

I’m walking downtown
Montreal, Toronto, Edmonton
Through different cultures and architectures
All I am getting is the same picture

Standing on the corner
She is lost in her shoes
Looking 30, still a minor
Climbing high in the blues
Selling men the illusion
That she becomes a star
When wings are taken off Angel
She is dancing on clouds

I’m walking downtown
New York, Chicago, Washington
Through different cultures and architectures
All I am getting is the same picture

Sitting on his grave
With a bag and a bottle
Counting steps that we make
Without leaving traces
He is talking to himself
Hoping someone will answer
With only God as a witness
Homeless and invisible

I am sending you a post card from
Montreal, Toronto, Edmonton,
New York, Chicago, Washington
Walking downtown
Through different cultures and architectures
All I took was the same picture…

Will it just be the 3 of you one the album? Not complaining I saw some nice bits fromt the tour on YouTube. But I had originally imagined Steve on an acousitc bass and some toned down percusion from CTM. Just curious if anyone else or instruments are on the new album.

Hi David, I see that you did not like Miss Guitar on your website. Sorry, I did not mean to offend you. It was an exercise of style for me as I was trying to write for a Metal Band.Well I have to say that it could be confusing. I really wanted to fool people when I wrote it as Miss Guitar truly is a Fender and not a girl.

It was for your rainy day on Twitter. Just wanted to cheer you up! Just thought that I would share it with you as I found it interesting that you like to play guitar and I like to write on rainy days. Some like to sleep!!!

Well you can take off the other ones I sent you on your site if you like. I don’t want to bother you with my stuff. As crazy as it sounds I just discovered your music recently and had no clue of who you were until my cousin spoke a good word about you. You and your band have enormous talent. Anyway, keep up the amazing work; love your style, depth & sounds. I always admire people who live their creativity.

Life is beautiful:)

Ciao!
